My name is Kirsty and I am Mummy to the ‘two little girls’….
I love art and craft and I love sharing it with my ‘two little girls’, or in fact anyone who will listen! People often say that our home looks amazingly creative but I must say that it is easy to confuse being messy with creativity!
I really wanted to start this blog, partly as a record for my ‘little girls’ but also to share some of our ideas and inspirations as honestly as possible. I love a ‘shiny’ blog. They are the places I go to if I need a pick-me-up or a bit of inspiration but they don’t really represent our life or how we do art and craft. It is always messy, there is generally washing or a pile of important papers in the picture….but I think that’s OK. I am trying to embrace the imperfect world that is family life. Perhaps I will get better at taking the Enid Blyton style pictures I aspire too but even if I do I will always try to tell it how it is.
On the note of Enid Blyton each article has a rating. 10 being a ‘crack open the ginger beer’ type moment! As a child I loved Enid Blyton and I wanted to be in the world of the Wishing Chair with pixies and giants and then later I definitely wanted to be one of the Famous Five (at the start Ann, then George when I realised she was cooler and more likely to get into trouble!). They were magical worlds, full of adventure, and I hope that I can pass on a little bit of magic to my ‘two little girls’ adding a bit of creativity into all our lives as we go and perhaps inspire other families to do the same. I hope that you enjoy the ideas and use a few of them at home too. I would love to hear about your adventures…
